Patch a Tube? July 16, 2007

So you’ve got a flat tire, but there’s just a tiny pinhole in the tube… Do you replace the tube?

No! Just put a patch on it. Patches these days, whether they are the original ones that require gluing or the stick-on ones, are good quality, and might even make the tube stronger in the patched area.

So the only downside is a couple extra grams. The tube should be fine to ride for years.



Your bike better be in top shape June 15, 2007

If your important races are coming up, don’t forget to have your bike in top shape.

Having a great body is only part of it. So is a sharp mind. But your bike better be decent. You don’t want the chain to break on the last big hill climb of the day because you haven’t lubed it in a month.
